The third day of rioting across France following the death of a 17 year old boy who fled a police check point.
The Paris Olympic Centre has been torched, as have many cars and other buildings. Fireworks and other projectiles including a petrol bomb have launched at police in revenge for the killing of the boy.
Buses and bus depots have been targeted across the country with many being torched along with schools and town halls. Many of the most violent clashes with police have occurred in the area of Paris where the shooting of the boy took place.
Police have used teargas to thwart advancing lines of angry rioters. Fencing has been targeted for burning and many bins set alight.
Officials say hundreds have been arrested during the days of rioting which escalated when video of the boy’s death circulated on social media.
Reports say that as many as 40,000 police have been deployed across France.
