While Ukrainian men are being ordered to die by the thousands, observers using space satellites are seeing battlefields littered with dead bodies that are not being retrieved. Sources says that Ukrainian forces are either unable to collect the bodies, or are no longer bothering to.
Retired American Colonel and commenter on the war, Douglas McGregor, described a few days ago how the Ukrainian hospitals are full of damaged and broken soldiers who will never return to active duty, while no-one really knows how many Ukrainians have been killed, estimates range from 300,000 to 350,000.
Ukraine’s people continue to leave the country in droves, with as many as 14 million having fled to nearby countries.
It’s reported that large numbers of Ukrainian soldiers are deserting, and surrendering to the Russians, many of them Russian speaking. They see the losses happening around them and know that they can’t make headway against the formidable Russian defences, they also know that they are not trained or equipped to win and so many are just giving up or are trying to get home while avoiding being shot by secret police, behind the lines.
Fortunately, Russians treat Ukrainian prisoners well.
